About Electronic Components
Condenser: A condenser is able to store elctric energy. It consists of two plates near to each other with an isolating sheet between, usually the plates are in the form of two foils scrolled together to a cylindrical shape. When a voltage is applied over the plates one plate will be filled with elctrones and the other void from electrones. When the plates then are short-shut an electric current will go between the plats and neutralize the charge again. A condeser will after a short time shut for current going in one direction, but will allow alternating current of a high enough frequency to go through it.
Coil: A coil is a wire wound up. sometimes around an iron kernel. When a current is initiated acros a coil, the energy of the current is used to build up a magnetic field in the coil, and this process will resist the current. When however the current has reached a stibile state, it is let through unhindered. This process will make the coil work a a resitor to altrnating currents, and if the frequency of the current is high enough, it will be stopped alltogether.
Diode: A diode is a device able to slip through current in one direction and stop current in the other direction, or a sort fo a rectifier. A diode is composed of two differently doped semicondutor elements in contact with each other
Transisror: A transistor is a component consisting of three stacked semiconductor sheets, each with a contact poin. A voltage applied over the outer sheets will cause a current. If however a simultaneous voltage is applied through an outer sheet and the mid sheet it will allow the first current to get through or hinder it depending on the direction of this voltage. In this way a transitor can be used to let small voltage alternations in one circuit regulate the size of a current in another circuit with a much greater applied voltage.
Resistor: A resistor is an element that resist and reduces the current caused by a voltage applied across it.
Transformer: A transformer is a device that can transform a strong alternating current of a low voltage level to a weaker alternating current of a higher voltage level or oppsitely. It consist of two coilds with different number of wounds, usually around a common iron kernel and arranged so thet a magnetic field generated by one coil go through the other also. One coil can be wound over the other or they can have a different places on the iron kernel. Transformers can vary considerably in size from small components to great devices. The voltage from the source or primary circuit is applied over one of the coils and the resultant voltage/current, the secondary circuit, is taken out over the other coil. If the secundary circuit has more wounds than the primary circuit, the secundary voltage will be greater that the primary voltage. When applied oppositely the resultant voltage will be lower.
